Privacy Policy

Throne is an app for finding, grading, lodging, and reporting public toilets in Australia. This policy explains what the app collects and how that information is used.

Information we collect

If you create or connect an account, we collect the account details returned by your sign-in provider, such as your email address, display name, provider ID, and Firebase user ID. You can also use the app with an anonymous Firebase account.

When you use the app, we may collect toilet gradings, venue lodgements, suggested corrections, reports, merit records, and any text or photographs you choose to submit.

With your permission, the app uses location to show nearby facilities, place new lodgements, and help verify that gradings were made on site. You can deny or revoke location access in your device settings.

Firebase, Google Maps, and related app services may process technical data such as device identifiers, app interactions, diagnostics, crash logs, IP address, SDK identifiers, and map interaction events. We use this data to run the app, keep it reliable, investigate abuse, and understand whether key features are working.

How we use information

We use submitted information to run the public toilet register, calculate venue scores, show leaderboards and honours, moderate reports and photos, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.

Some submitted content, such as venue details, gradings, scores, and approved photographs, may be shown publicly in the app or related Throne services.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information and the app does not contain third-party advertising. We use service providers to operate the app, including Firebase, Google Cloud, Google Maps services, Apple platform services, Google sign-in, and Apple sign-in where those services are used.

These service providers may receive account, device, diagnostics, app activity, and location data only as needed to provide, secure, and improve Throne.

Photos

Photos are optional. Do not upload a photograph if it includes people, private information, or anything you do not want associated with a public toilet record. We may remove or reject photos during moderation.

Security and retention

Throne uses Firebase and Google Cloud infrastructure. Data is transmitted over HTTPS and access is limited by Firebase security rules and project permissions. We keep information while it is needed to operate the register, handle moderation, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

Account and data deletion

To ask for account deletion or removal of personal information, email dwaynecharrington@gmail.com from the email address connected to your Throne account. We will delete or detach personal account details where we can. Some venue records, ratings, reports, moderation logs, and legal or security records may be kept if they are needed to run the public register, protect the service, meet legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

Your choices

You can use device settings to control camera, photo library, and location permissions. You can also stop signing in with Google or Apple through the account controls provided by those services.

Children

Throne is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. The updated date at the top of this page will show when the policy last changed.
